CALL FOR ENTRIES
ANNUAL MEMBERS' EXHIBIT 2020

EVENT DETAILS

WHAT

This exhibit is limited to current members of Plano Art Association. It is an opportunity to showcase members’ artwork in the beautiful ArtCentre of Plano galleries for over a month and a half. During this period, hundreds of people will view your work, which can be for sale if you choose. The ArtCenter is located at 902 E 16th St, Plano, TX 75074

WHEN

The exhibit will be on display from February 7 through March 28 from 10:00 a.m till 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

  • 1/23 – Artist Submission Deadline Online
  • 1/27  - Artist Notification of Pieces Accepted 
  • 2/01  - Artist Drop Off (at ArtCentre, 12:00 - 5:00 PM)
  • 2/07  - Opening of Show
  • 2/15  - Awards Program and Reception (at ArtCentre, 5:00 - 7:00 PM)
  • 3/28 – Show Closes
  • 3/30 -  Artist Pick Up (at ArtCentre 10:00 am - 5:00 pm)
  • NOTE: Artwork cannot be removed from the exhibit earlier than this time and date!

PARTICIPATION

Members of Plano Art Association may submit up to three pieces. Acceptance will be based on the number of total submissions and space available for exhibiting approximately 65 pieces, on a first come first serve basis. Artists will be notified of the final number of pieces to drop off to be exhibited. This exhibit is exclusively for PAA members to showcase works that reflect the quality and diversity of the works of our membership. Both one-dimensional and two-dimensional works will be accepted. Remember, you may enter up to 3 pieces, but from 1 to 3 will be able to be exhibited, space allowing.

No nude subject matter will be accepted into the exhibit.

All two-dimensional works must be equipped with D-rings with wire, ready to hang.
WORKS WILL BE REJECTED AT DROP-OFF IF THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY PREPARED FOR HANGING.

Artwork for hanging must be no wider than 40 inches.

All works must have the artist's name and title of the piece on a note attached to the back of the artwork.

Exhibit space is limited to approximately 65 pieces.

AWARDS

Mary Hull of Hull Art Academy in Carrollton will serve as our judge for the awards that will be presented at the reception. The awards will not be genre category-specific.
  1st prize - $500
  2nd prize - $250
  3rd prize - $150
  $50 gift certificates to each of 3 merit winners
  $100 for the People's Choice Award

ENTRY FEES

PAA MEMBERS - Members may enter up to three pieces for a total fee of $30

NONMEMBERS - Nonmembers must join PAA before submitting artwork.

MEMBERSHIPS - Range from $30 to $90 (To join now, go to http://planoartassociation.org/join)

SALES

Exhibiting artists may sell their work during the show. A 30% commission will be retained by Plano Art Association.

ENTRY PROCESS

  • 1. Enter one to three images of your work on the next page, which will be automatically forwarded to the PAA Entry Manager and processed for entry consideration.
  • 2. Pay member entry fee. Have your credit card information handy.
  • 3. The PAA Entry Manager will notify artist about which of their works can be included in the exhibit along with a reminder of regulations, key times for drop-off, reception, pick-up, etc.
